Full-Day Camp

Full-Day Camp

Since 1951 camp at The Thoreau Club has been fostering youth development by building confidence, teamwork, responsibility and friendship in our campers. We pride ourselves on a truly unique and fulfilling camp experience!

An engaging outdoor traditional day camp nestled on 35 wooded acres in historic Concord, MA, where the spirit of Henry David Thoreau lives on as we focus on simplicity by providing a perfect blend of traditions, friendships, character development, recreational program instruction and fun.

Camp PROGRAMming

Traditional Camp serves children entering Pre-K (campers must be 4 years old by the start of their session) through rising 8th graders.

Programming

Each day begins with Opening Council, where, in addition to hearing morning announcements, campers learn traditional songs and games that have been passed down from campers spanning generations. Their day will then be spent rotating through age-appropriate, progressive program areas, which include:

  • Archery
  • Arts & Crafts
  • Theatre
  • Field Sports
  • Tennis
  • Nature
  • Outdoor Adventure Skills
  • High and Low Ropes
  • Challenge Course

Hours

  • Full-Day Camp: 9:00 AM – 3:30 PM
  • Extended Day: 7:30 AM – 8:45 AM / 3:45 PM – 5:30 PM

*NOTE Summer 2026*
After careful thought and extensive discussions, we have made the difficult decision to discontinue Summer’s Edge at Camp Thoreau for the 2026 camp season.

Currently, we do not have a replacement camp location or program to announce for Summer 2026. Should that change in the future, we will communicate that here and within the community.
