For almost seven decades, the Pulis family has played a leadership role in the recreational offerings within Concord with the formation of Camp Thoreau and The Thoreau Club. 1951 Dot & Click Pulis establish Camp Thoreau at a campsite owned by Elsie Kennedy on Hayward Pond. 1957 Camp Thoreau moves to White Pond at Briardale Farm owned by the Frost family. 1960 Dot & Click purchase 26 acres of farmland from farmer Frank Williams and settle into their new camp home on Old Marlboro Road. 1967 Todd Pulis puts a business plan together and introduces Camp Thoreau Family Swimmers. An in-ground pool is built and creates the perfect neighborhood swim club. 1971 Thoreau becomes one of the first businesses in New 1986 The idea of investing in one’s health and well-being is becoming an every day lifestyle.
