My career in swimming began at a very early age competing in my first meet at four years old . I remained dedicated to the sport and later went on to compete three times on the national level at the Junior Olympic Games. I attended the University of Missouri in Columbia (Mizzou) on a full ride academic scholarship. While swimming at the collegiate level, a career ending shoulder injury led me to pursue Bachelors of Science in Sports Medicine. After graduating from Mizzou I returned home to pilot the competitive swimming program at Brittany Woods Middle School. I spent my summers assisting in the development of aquatic education programs throughout the St. Louis area; contributing a step-by-step dynamic lesson plan that served as a vital tool for many recreation aquatic centers. I then was recruited as a level III coach by UCSC, my former USA team. I successfully increased enrollment and retention rates during my first season. By tracking the improvement rates of several athletes, I was able to see an average +42% of athletes achieving qualifying times. Shortly after I took on the position as Head Coach of the Varsity and Junior Varsity Girls Swim team at McCluer Senior High School for the four years to follow. Beginning each season with introduction to water safety, my Assistant Coach and I worked diligently to progress each student athlete from novice to the competitive level. As I concluded what would be my final season at McCluer, we carried the highest average GPA amongst all fall sports. With a dedicated group of girls , were able to reclaim our position on the podium at sectionals for the first time in over seven years. Although my time at McCluer holds a special place in my heart, my journey must continue! I am eager and thrilled to see what this next chapter holds as the Head Coach of the Sharks here at The Thoreau Club.
